SDG Night Frankfurt Davos 2023

January 17, 2023. In the context of the World Economic Forum, it was a great pleasure to host the SDG Night Frankfurt-Davos. This gathering brought together global leaders, experts, and visionaries, marking a tangible testament to our journey towards a sustainable future.

The challenges confronting our world today, from soaring inflation and violent conflicts to impending energy crises and global warming, are unprecedented. They necessitate immediate efforts from all stakeholders. This forum served as a dynamic platform for over 250 distinguished guests, fostering meaningful discussions with leaders from business, government, and academia. Notable figures such as Thomas Saueressig, Joachim Nagel, Ute Klamert, and other esteemed representatives from diverse industries and sectors participated in the dialogues.

Throughout the discourse, it was emphasized that it is fundamentally important to support sustainable practices across all sectors of society and to foster greater collaboration to enable an exchange of perspectives and work together on sustainable solutions in the areas of energy, food production, digitalization and finance.

Frankfurt, as a prominent financial hub, bears a pivotal role in accelerating green investments in the path towards a low-carbon economy and mitigate global warming to 1.5°C.  Significant progress can be made through green investments in technologies such as renewable energy, smart grid systems, biotechnology, green transportation and infrastructure systems, and more resilient societies.

As we conclude this conference, we must remain mindful of our world’s interconnected nature. Events that take place in one part of the world have an impact on all of us. To create a more sustainable, equitable, and successful future, we must work together collectively. We should use the knowledge and inspiration gained from Davos to focus on the next steps of positive change. We thank you for your participation and contributions and look forward to seeing the community again at next year’s World Economic Forum, on the 16th of January 2024
